Hi guys, this is the radical, all-new 1200cc Superquadro engine which will power Ducati's eagerly awaited new superbike, the 1199 Panigale. Check it out.
Ducati chief Claudio Domenicali reveals the engine is: incredibly “oversquare” where piston diameter, or bore, exceeds stroke. The engine is dubbed Superquadro which is Italian for “Super square.” It is also claimed to be riddled with advanced technology both in design and construction, and be phenomenally powerful. Ducati claim 195bhp, over 20bhp more than the outgoing 1198.
You can see it’s very compact, while clever design features enable massive weight reductions of the overall bike. That’s it for now.
Be sure to check out Ducatist for more Ducati fun.
