Woman on Blade hits 200mph!

Hi guys! A standard Honda Fireblade hit over 200mph this week when, in the hands of female racer Leslie Porterfield, it broke the world speed for litre production bikes at Bonneville Salt Flats.

Porterfield, from Dallas, Texas, recorded a two-way average of 200.137mph in the FIM 1000 P-P unmodified production class, to break the previous record, also held by her, by more than 7mph.

The Blade, competing under the Sir Speedy Racing banner had no modifications save gaps in the fairing and in Leslie's leathers being taped up to improve aerodynamics.

Porterfield, who owns a motorcycle dealership in Dallas is a regular at Bonneville Speed Week and holds a number of world records. She was named the ‘Guinness Book of World Records’ ‘Fastest Woman in the World on a Motorcycle’ after hitting 234.197mph on a Suzuki Hayabusa at Bonneville in 2008.
