24 Hours of Spa sees an Audi 1-2 in Q1

Weather seems to always come into play at Spa. However, it decided to cooperate a bit for the first qualifying session for the 24 Hours of Spa. Again, Audi Sport looked to have the pace in damp conditions. Mattias Ekstrom would end up on top with a 2:40.472 in the W Racing Team Audi R8.

Le Mans winner, Marcel Fassler, was just shy of Ekstrom’s time with a 2:41.007. Marcel shares the Team Phoenix Audi R8 LMS with Andrea Piccini and Mike Rockenfeller.

Reiter Lamborghini’s Peter Kox was on some flyers and ended up 4th with a 2:41.478 in the Gallardo.

The Porsche teams were showing some frustrations as the top 911 was back in 20th.
