Leading the Belcar Endurance Championship, Marc Goossens and Maxime Soulet will be back on the Zolder circuit, the same track where the CPL Trans team proved their worth a fortnight ago. This time around the Belcar event will take on a “125 minutes” race format with the arrival of the WTCC, the World Touring Car Championship. Will the overall well balanced and superior braking of the Porsche 911 GT3-R come up trumps once more on this tortuous Belgian Limburg circuit? The RoundUp duo is counting on it as it has every intention of… “keeping a cool head”.

The Belcar Endurance Championship 2011 is comprised out of six meetings. Six meetings which includes the “double points” event of the 24 Hours of Zolder, with these results going to make up the final overall rankings. The drivers, similar to the teams, cannot afford to make mistakes. One of Marc Goossens and Maxime Soulet’s main objectives is regularity. The only difference with this regularity being the fact that this ProSpeed Competition duo’s ambition is the top tread of the podium.

Rudi Penders

“It is always important to kick off a championship on a positive note. Victory is one of these. It boosts the entire “team” to go forwards. It builds up additional confidence amongst the drivers. The engineers have confirmation that they have adopted the correct set-ups. Right through to our new partners, such as Hozelock and Promolife.be, who see their investment paying off… The perfect starting out point, just like a train setting off at full pace in a straight line. No point in looking left or right, the objective is straight ahead.”

Marc Goossens

“We started the season off far better than our nearest rivals, however we also need to continue concentrating on our efforts. The hard work must be focussed on the qualifying sessions. The R8 and the SLS are fast. So together with our engineers we need to find those extra tenths of a second per lap. These would keep us safe. We mustn’t let ourselves be closed in on the staring grid.”

Maxime Soulet

“It’s up to us to establish the best strategy to achieve our goal, namely to preserve our leadership in this competition. Our “package” in Zolder is powerful. Let’s be confident but at the same time attentive. Let’s keep a cool head, both literally and figuratively speaking.”
Reigning double champion of Europe, the Liege based ProSpeed Competition team clinched the FIA GT2 “Drivers” title in 2009 prior to winning – in 2010 – the “Teams” crown in the FIA GT3 competition. Elected « Team of the Year » by the RACB, ProSpeed Competition boasts a well filled 2011 program : Le Mans Series, 24 Hours of Le Mans, European Championship FIA GT3, 24 Hours of Spa and Belcar Endurance Championship.
