Here's one last entry for 2009, the story of Garden Party by Rick(y) Nelson
. Released in 1972, it proved to be his last hit song. It was inspired by a bad experience he had making an appearance at an oldies concert at Madison Square Garden with the likes of Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley. The video below tells the story better than I can, although the accompanying version of the song is a cover by someone with a rather poor vocal performance.
